DON2- My Take

Hot and action packed weekend it was. I wasn’t eager to watch Ghost protocol as I was too excited to watch our DESI DON!! SRK is definitely back with a bang and the loudest one this time with his chiselled rough looks , wild hair style and muscled body with his humour intact showing that this hawwwttest Don can be dangerous and funny too at the same time! I loved all the comic tit-bits of “THE DON”. Lara dutta got hotter and she for sure doubled the grace of the movie. I didn’t like PC much. She with her obese lips and broad shoulders was more manly trying to be a bold girl once in a blue moon! The best thing about her was when she wore black in the party when our SRK enters wearing Hrithik’s mask. When PC’s and Lara’s backs are exposed in the party girls can only eye them enviously! Hrithik- PC pair reminded me of Krish for a moment and I was not ready to miss SRK for even few min so was eagerly waiting for him to unmask himself and also stop talking in Hrithik’s voice :P. Glad that Isha koppikar is replaced by Lara. I felt PC also should have been replaced for some newness this time! It felt monotonous to watch her and the older ompuri as well but all these things can be ignored as it was SRK all the way who stole the show and the ingenious Farhan Akhtar who tried his level best not to make the movie a bore! The best thing in the movie is that there are no unnecessary songs. Zara dil ko thaam le is ultra stylish showing the return of DON and the shadow dance also seemed cool!

The song with PC is also not bad and I actually sat even after the movie ended just to watch SRK who was getting hotter scene by scene and wanted to have more and more of him J. Hai ye maaya by Usha uthup also added special effect to the bank robbery scene and the aura was more addictive due to her singing and the music in the background after DON and the crew enter the bank. Don was looking his best in the whole robbery scene. He wore black and all the scenes in some orange light inside the bank and in tunnels in the last glorified his appearance and style along with priyanka’s. She was shown like a fool showing her soft corner for DON! Well may be she isn’t such a fool as DON is lot charismatic and addictive!:)

The whole 2hrs and some 20+ min the movie was gripping but I liked the suspense and the plot more in the prequel of this but this one is definitely the best . The credit goes to SRK, his new look and of course the direction the main element for any movie and the only element which spoiled Ra.one. Farhan can be tagged as one of the most stylish directors India has. The story is no nonsense and this shows a definite leap in Hindi filmdom mimicking the Hollywood style a bit! SRK’s quirky sense of humour stole my heart. His flirtatious nature with Priyanka is funny and those one or two light romantic moments were also shown crisply in sync with the story without making it a flop show!

SRK takes you on an exhilarating adventurous ride and you will be busy watching him get transformed from a wild dangerous criminal in Jail to a debonair Don and then neatly shaved good boy when he again comes across PC in the second half. I fell for all outfits , jackets and the rayban shades on SRK in the movie. It’s pulsating and action packed though in first half it’s all about the jail escape and making the plan. Second half grips the audience’s attention and Kunal kapoor did what he has to as an intelligent hacker! The suspense can be guessed easily by anyone who is watching the movie attentively J. Cinematography is at its best and the movie scores brownie points due to exotic locations. Malaysia , Thailand , Zurich and Berlin. Don is international now and gives the classy feel to the movie!

Some plus points

Ø SRK’s dazzling aurawhich made me say “Wowww” in the theatre and well most of the fans will definitely fall in love with him all over again. This movie is definitely not for SRK’s haters by birth. They will end up cursing and mouthing swear words coz success is inevitable here! SO ANTI SRK junta avoid this movie. [Well I heard that some couldn’t resist watching it on first day even in UK :P]

Ø Along with the main bank robbery scene, the jail escape scene is also well plotted by DON who not only makes toughest plans but actually executes them.

· Jason West’s wonderful camera work.,stunning visuals and no need to mention the ultra stylish narrator Farhan!

· The amazing one-liners used by DON. The dialogues are quick and good. Few which I liked are:

· Boman and SRK’s interaction in jail and when he says “Isme na to tumhara faida hoga na mera sirf kutton ka hoga” .

· “Don ke dushman ko hamesha yeh baat yaad rakhni chahiye...ke Don kabhi kuch nahi bhulta.”

· “Roma Roma... meri jungle billi kab tak peecha karogi mera, kahin log na samjhe tum mujhse sach me mohabbat karne lagi ho;)”

· “Sir mat bolo. Zyada shareef lagta hai. call me Don” to Kunal Kapoor.

· Aaj yeh sun kar meri Maa kitni khush hoti.

· “Jeetna meri zid nahi aadat hai.” And many more to mention but I shall stop here so as not to spoil the aura for those who didn’t watch yet J

Ø Even when humour is slapstick you can’t resist a laugh and girls can go gaga over SRK. Many were hooting and clapping and we actually hooted when SRK rides the bike on the road with water on two sides in climax. The opening and climax scenes will be imprinted as they were shown effortlessly and even if am repeating lot of style+attitude injected in them.

Ø Releasing the movie during the festive season. People will queue up to watch it as part of their X-mas and newyear celebration. Needless to say it already earned a lot in Overseas and investors can reap a harvest.

Ø Lara dutta comes as a surprise package. To me she is very hot and showered elegance on the screen.

Minus points

Ø Priyanka Chopra’s role makes sense as this is sequel but a replacement could have added freshness

Ø Its a superb action thriller but I personally liked the suspense element more in prequel.

Ø Shankar ehsaan’s music which could have been much better

Well everyone says its bit inspired by Ocean’s eleven, Mission impossible, Italian job etc etc but what I felt is this is a story full of style and attitude and will be liked by the people who actually love the same elements and a story where every mission is necessarily made possible by DON!!

My overall rating : 4.5/5

So people go watch the Hawttest DON of the season NOW and enjoy the holiday!

“Rocking and Rolling Rockstar”

Naadaan Parindey Ghar aaja.... O naadan parindey Ghar aaja, kyu desh videsh phire maara..Kyu haal behaal thaka haara!

Am just singing this song from two days and haven’t stopped yet. This movie’s music gripped me long back but it house arrested me from more than a week. It’s been long since I wrote a movie review but this master piece had enough of my attention, so here I go.

Imtiyaz ali, the man behind is a genius , a man who can not only make the hero strike the guitar chord and make it look so real but also strike the chord of emotions in everyone! He is one of the best directors India has got. I always liked Kunal Kohli for Hum Tum, Farhan Akhtar for Dil Chahta hai and Mahesh Bhatt for Dushman, Zakhm,Aashiqui and many more but this man Imtiyaz ali is different. He pours his soul in the movie. I hope he lives up to it always and directs awesome movies in forthcoming days! He is a man who can mix all kind of emotions in subtle amounts without giving you that melodramatic feel! He is the real rock star to me, who laid foundation to this and of course there is no need to guess who the other rockstars are. Am glad India has artists like Mohit Chauhan and A.R.Rahman. I take a bow to the intensity of their singing and the way they breathe life in to a song! Am ecstatic by the fact A.R.Rahman has many students! I literally closed my eyes when Naadan Parindey and Jo bhi Main and Kun Faaya Kun were being sung and enjoyed to the fullest.The other favourites are Katiya Karun, Tum Ho and also Hawa Hawa .The reason for liking the last one is the transformation of Heer, she actually springing back to life once she meets her Jordan is so damn beautifully shown. I didn’t feel a teensy weensy bit of the movie boring or unnatural or not so needed! The opening scene and then series of scenes showing how Janardhan evolved to Jordan are amazing! THAT MOMENT I REALISED THIS RANBIR KAPOOR IS NOT GONNA BE THE ONE I Watched all these years. He too evolved and how can I express my euphoria! I loved him in each and every frame/ every style/ every costume/ comic/ tragic scene and everything! Ranbir was cute in Wake up sid, a lover boy in Bachna aye Haseenon, intelligent in Rocket singh, Angry young man in Rajneeti but he seemed to be a mix of all along with many more blended emotions in him in Rockstar!

Whoaa love you Ranbir! My words are falling short to express how much I liked himJ

Nargis Fakiri is definitely pretty but an immediate glance at her reminded me of Preeti sabarwal of Chakde. Like Ranbir says to her in a scene in the movie I too didn’t feel her too hot/cool/gorgeous but she is definitely charismatic with a rose petal like complexion. She gave a more than satisfying performance being a new comer. She was very natural in most of the scenes she acted, but with her huge pout and too long nose I felt the tragic scenes and tears were little awkward. She should definitely work on them, may be the tears or the lips J, but when a person can love the pout of Angelina Jolie or a Keira Knightley I don’t know why such a fuss is being made that “Nargis and her pout or her tears spoiled the movie.” I think it is a “style/YO” statement to hate everything which originates in Bollywood and flaunt that you just don’t belong here. Can’t help saying this as I met such people lately! I watch many English movies and I absolutely love them too but I am deeply connected to Bollywood and India. I feel connected to many nice things shown in many nice movies and I request those critics who are so loyal in their job not to list out all the flop movies one by one to strengthen their crappy arguments. To me she definitely was new, spicy and acted lot better than many known faces in Bollywood who took 5yrs to a decade to bring out their acting skills. Of course here credit goes again to Imtiyaz for bringing the actress in her out! My most favourite Nargis Fakiri scene is during her wedding when she asks Ranbir with mehndied hands “can you hug me ?!” “Jaldi me ho kya?!” “Ache se karo na!!”

When I was watching that scene I felt this is one such love story I am gonna remember for long. This lovestory is neatly done and makes everyone feel that one should have such passion for their boy/girl and lead a happy life ever after though realstars and rockstars have a magnifying differenceJ. There is a Hollywood tinge in this movie, the way it was presented. Watching the camaraderie of Heer and Jordan I unintentionally remembered My Sassy Girl, Before Sunrise, P.S. I love you, The Notebook kind of movies. The hottest girl of college –Heer is full of life only when Jordan is near to her. Of course its shown love can do miracles and she gains strength in spite of her serious illness, and I didn’t find it unnatural at all as love does miracles. Oh boy, I loved that scene too where she energetically and enthusiastically comes downstairs for breakfast and when Jordan is waiting at the door, kisses her mom with a broad smile and leaves, leaving a pleased happy mom behind!

Everyone should list down the crazy things they want to do in life which may or may not be bold like Heer’s wishes, should have a crazy companion as doing a crazy act aloof is not so much fun and then get that euphoric feel of accomplishing it J Some said the ending is foggy but I guess an artist would like even that. Naadan parindey song and the hope that she will come back, I don’t think there can be a better end. Having leaked many spoilers, do not want to narrate all the scenes and spoil the broth! Rock star is like a sweet/sour/salty/hot/spicy soup. Mohit Chauhan has travelled a long way taking the silk route and gave to us that silky, smoothening touch with his voice. Want to watch him playing guitar once and strike a chord along with him. Wow the thought itself is giving me goose bumps! A.R. Rehman has done an awesome job in Kun Faaya kun so did he do a great job in rest all songs. It seems the one who played guitar in Sadda Haq is from Michael Jacksons troup. Orianthi Panagris, a 25-year-old guitarist was the lead guitarist in Michael Jackson's This is It concert. Nargis Fakiri is a half-czech half-Pakistani model.Talent either local or imported had a magical impact on those who got a share of it and this review would be incomplete without conveying kudos to Irshad kamil my most favourite lyricist !Climax reminded me of two Telugu masterpieces "Geetanjali(Maniratnam)" and "Saagara Sangamam(K.Viswanath)".Southies can relate to it!

All said and done Rockstar is a must watch and I wouldn’t mind watching it again for Ranbir, Mohit, Rehman, breathtaking locations shown in the movie and last but not the least to watch Shammi kapoor and feel that he still lives. He plays shehnai in the movie resembling the real Ustaad Bismillah Khan and with his blue eyes and killing looks Shammi still looked like the most romantic man on the earth to me! Long live Shammi and hail Rockstar. I wish it bags many awards at all possible award ceremonies. Good luck to the Rockstar team. Right now plugged in to "Aur Ho"!

This is the toughest of all challenges!!!Music is magical and divine. Its not exaggerating if you say it impacts your life. Few lines from a poem I wrote long back.

Am not a musician .I didn’t learn any musical instrument but I love any kind of music which is pleasant to ears. I love Hindi filmi songs and romantic melodies and some Telugu songs too! From all those amazing songs I cannot chose two best songs. There are zillions of them which are heart touching. I love English songs, specially those which instantly connect with me and the lyrics of which are understandable. Some real soothing ones are like below .

Firstly Bazz Lurhman’s Sunscreen song which I feel is inspirational. Concentrate on lyrics!

This song is the first English song I loved a lot and understood the lyrics and learnt the songJ. Its touching

There are many love songs which sweep you off your feet , but the below two songs can make me really dreamy or emotional depending on my mood

There are many Telugu songs too! Depending on mood the choice of music/ songs differs. Now i feel like humming the below song

"10 Day You Challenge--post 8". "3 Movies!!!!!

Life is beautiful : A movie I watched “N” number of times ! It's originally an Italian movie which shows the story of a Jewish Italian Guido Orefice. I don’t even know the real names of the actors. There’s our hero Guido and the leading Lady Dora who is extremely stunning and there’s a sweet kid Joshua (or that’s how its pronounced).It’s a story of happenings before and after world war II .Absolutely not an over dump of emotions but very touching and by the end of the movie you can only appreciate the valour of the man Guido. A must watch! You can see the atrocities and the horrible consequences of world war and how Dora and Guido were separated and how he tried to keep the kid always happy! It’s an "Academy award" winner movie. Most of you would have watched it.

Bolly wood Romantic movies : To me the best of all romantic movies are “Dilwale dulhania lejayenge” , “ Yes Boss” and “Dil se”. Of course most of the SRK’s movies fall in this category! “ Hum tum” and “Jab we met”can also be added to the list. I watched these movies many times just to feel dreamy again and again :P If I keep aside how realistic or reelistic they are I LOVE them. Some more movies which are very colourful and you feel like watching them whenever you are bored are “Hum dil de chuke sanam” ,“ Hum aapke hain kaun”, “Saajan”, “Dil” ,“Chandni” ,“Chaalbaaz”, “Cheenikum” and many more. The names I take will be in a very haphazard way and I love Hindi movies though few are over done. Bolly wood masala, vibrance, music, songs never fail to impress me. Bolly wood is like a Grand Gaka!!

My Sassy Girl :

A Korean Romantic Comedy. Being an Asian movie it portrays the emotions like any other Indian movie but in a subtle humorous way which relieves you. At the same time it highlights love, relations and emotions. I became a fan of Jun-Ji-Hyun the Korean actress after watching the movie. There are many other Korean movies which I want to watch but not getting time. Their movies are short sweet and heart touching! After watching the movie I practised Korean style of talking with all my friends and cousins “Bring that plate aooooo" or “ Pls pass the chipss wooooo" stretching every word;) It’s always fun: P! Even now whenever I feel like I watch this movie!

Taking just the names of 3 movies seems horrendous!!! There are many nice movies which make you feel good, make you think ,which can connect you to real life or take you away from real life for 2-3 hrs , make you feel real life is better after those 2-3 hrs , so on so forth. If I have to take some names which are near to my heart “Shaw shank Redemption” –A movie which changed my thinking process.“Forrest Gump” - I love Tom hanks. “A Cinderella man” --- Shows the “Great depression” impacts on a family and how they over come. Russel crowe at his BEST! “Pretty woman” is another favourite and many of Julia Roberts’, Jim carrey’s , Adam sandler’s movies who on the screen like a laugh and who are so damn natural

“Satyame Sivam” --- Kamal hasan / Madhavan starrer movie which always leaves me in tears and I think for long after watching it! It’s awesome. Must watch with subtitles if you don’t know the language. One of the Kamal’s best though there are many. (Its remade from some English movie Planes Trains and Automobiles) . I love some Telugu comedy flicks too which are very relaxing like “Nuvvu naku nachav” and “ Manmadhudu”. Shekhar kammula’s movies— without mentioning him my post will be incomplete. My only fav director in Telugu as of now .Love his major works“Anand” and “Leader”.

I love animes. Mostly Japanese Animations.”The Grave of fireflies” being my fav, Monsters Inc , Ice age and many more are interesting . Well I can’t keep on writing here as the list will never end. YES AM A BIG MOVIE BUFF!!

Last but not the least well it’s obvious I watch all Harry potter movies .Though I prefer books to movies, movies breathe life in to characters and hone the imagination so I LOVE THEM!!!

"10 Day You Challenge--post 7". "4 Books!!!!!!!

The 7th challenge is to write about 4 books!!!

1.) The Diary of a Young Girl :

I can say it’s the first book which left me vacant from inside when I closed it. I used to read the routine books (all Sydney Sheldon's & Agatha Christie's works) till I bought this one in one of the trips and I preserved it and passed on to many others. It’s the diary of Anne Frank which she wrote till she died in the Nazi camp at the age of 14.When the book ended I was wishing to flip through more pages!! Written in Dutch language, it’s now translated in more than 60 different languages. It is still one of the best sellers and listed in the top 10 or 20 most read books in the world in some surveys!

2.) Harry potter : It would be an offense in my case to take any other name. I owe my childhood , teenage and this software stone age to J.K.Rowling and the amazing imaginations, subtle morals , emotions she weaved ! The awesome era of books and movies ended but the magic never ends to me and I keep on reading them !There’s no need to talk more on this ;)

3.) Comics : I love comics. Any kind which can hook me. My most favourites are Garfield and Calvin and Hobbes.Oh!! Am a big fan of Bill waterson. He inspires me to draw cartoons! They make you smile and at the same time inspire you and hold lessons you always are in need for! I love Roaldahl’s Short stories, Ruskin Bond’s Short stories/Poems to that matter any short stories or poems which make you think. Summing up I love all the comics and any short stories books which are actually interesting, short and sweet.TINKLE is one of my favourites too:-)

4.) Eat pray Love: A book Which I recently started reading and am loving it in and out !!In the prologue and epilogue many famous personalities , publications , newspapers almost told the same thing that EAT PRAY LOVE is warm , filled with hope and that every woman should read it and its being passed between women like a secret of life . Halfway through the book I too felt the same that I should prescribe it to many women I know and also Men! Whichman won’t be interested to know how and what a woman thinks J but ya it’s a kind of autobiography and travel experiences of the author Elizabeth Gilbert in three different places where she discovers herself!! Needs little patience to read which I guess long time readers are equipped with so it’s not that tough!! Eat Pray Love..Order it now!! Its a major motion picture too and none other than Julia Roberts acted in it!!

Gosh!! It’s a tough task to chose 4 favourite books among all those books which smile and wave at you like friends!!! I love Dan brown and among Indian authors Chetan Bhagat, Arvind Adiga, Advaita Kala and many other old/new and upcoming authors around us .I have many books in "To be read” list . Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy, Ayn Ryand’s Fountain head(Which every one prescribes to read and keep on saying it’s like a Bible), Kite runner , 100 years of solitude (which am midway) and many more!!!! Depending on your mood for poetic lovers it also feels relieving to buy some works of Ralph waldo emerson, John keats so on so forth. There are many more books which keep getting added to this list and its always never tiring and never ending.

WEIRD situations—U have any ?

I am not sure if my face is like an “agony aunt’s” or I seem to be like an “astute listener” but some times I come across some weird situations which are mingled with humor too. Wanted to pen down some.

Scene-1

I was inside the lift in my apartment. Light was blinking, dysfunctional (As always one or the other problem and the lifts are not spacious like the office lifts . They are cramped, shabby and dark and only 4 can fit with lot of difficulty)

When the automatic door was about to close a lady in mid 30s entered with thoughtful/confused/dazed look on her face and gazed at me with those mingled expressions. She seemed to be a Trelawney to me (sorry Potter mania is still on). The door got closed. She fumbled for buttons pressed 3 different buttons 3,4,5 . I ignored and pressed 2. She immediately turned to me

Lady: “What do you do if someone teases you in lift?”

Me: “Pardon !!***”(stars on my head ofcourse)

Lady: “I mean there is even no light in this lift! What to do if some one misbehaves. Some one touches you or grabs you from behind”

I shuddered at the thought. I instantly pictured a scene from some horror movie where a man in black stabs the lady with a knife as soon as the lift opens.

Me : “No . At least in this apartment nothing of that sort will happen or did it happen to you?”

Lady: “No . The whole 5th floor is full of spoiled brats. They keep playing Xbox, put the music player on full volume , get drunk , and obviously travel in the lift. What if one of the sturdy guys does it. I just got scared by the thought that’s it”

Oh god! Sturdy guy does what!!This lady is scaring me now with her what-ifs !?!Obviously lift stopped at 2nd floor but I was still talking to her .

Me: “No ! I don’t think any of them will do it and any way in the time You use lift they won’t be using it in a drunk stage i guess!”(some how her dreamy troubled look made me utter these words. I was surprised at myself)

Lady, finally managed a weak smile and still looking dreamily at me uttered a meek thanks and closed the doors

Me more confused and smiling to myself rang the door bell!

Scene-2

I was checking the watch and hurriedly completing the last round of my morning walk. I got up late and I had to catch the bus in the next 50min. I was walking in the apartment compound like I daily do. At the park near the swing I was about to take a turn where a very old man having a head full of grey hair carrying a basket with 4 heritage milk packets and news paper stopped the almost running me mid way .

I could almost hear the” screeeeeeeeeech” sound when we apply sudden break to the Pulsar vrooming in jet speed!

Somehow the adidas has a strong cushion and I didn’t topple over him. Unplugged my I-pod to listen to why he stopped me!?

Old man : “Don’t mind ! I daily see you walking this side!”

Me: so-what kind of look on my face.

Old man : “ I actually wanted to ask U some thing?!”

I thought may be some kind of a favor like you see in those 60’smovies or in some senti fwds or stories to read a letter for him , or buy something for him or some other help.

I nodded as if to go on and not to make me wait. I was already getting irritable but counting the number of grey hairs I controlled the impatience.

Old Man: “Actually You know in which direction earth revolves?”

what the eff!! Of all things in the world You stopped me to ask this!! I don’t know about earth revolving but I felt my head like a galaxy

Me: I didn’t get U (suppressing the anger)

Old man: “Listen beta! Earth revolves around the sun in counter clockwise direction and you are walking in counter clock wise direction. Ideally you have to walk in clock wise direction. Its good according to magnetics and I can prove that to you”

I used to think it’s good to walk in same direction. Well am really not good at physics or magnetics and I even forgot the earths revolution direction. I gave a puzzled look at him and said: “ Ya ! actually fine..Thanks for it. But I gotta go now. Am getting late for office”

Old man: “ No no! listen ..You do not understand the importance of it. You youngsters usually don’t try knowing the reasons. Whatever You do is going to dogs. NO USE even if you walk.

What the heck. This old man has lot of free time .

I was dancing tip toe as if to go or not. Was thinking to myself will it be rude if I just make a move

OM: “Even if you sleep in this direction it’s not good for health or prosperity and bad omens will haunt you”

Ya this bit of info I felt is true as by that time I felt one Omen is for sure haunting me!!!!

Old man/ Omen K : “DO you go to temple”

Me : “NO!”

OM: “If you go U will know the reason even better actually”

Me: “sorry but I really don’t have time for all this. I will miss my bus. So c ya”

OM: “Ya ya ma! Sorry!U R like my daughter so Just letting you know ( I have lot-of-free time and no one to prey so eating your head).I sound rude but can’t help

OM: Please walk in clock wise direction ma !

Me: “OK” and I left with out turning my head . When I was about to take one more turn I gave a side glance and saw that OM was preying on one more lady who was looking at him as if he escaped from mental hospital

**Tch tch ** I RESPECT OLD PEOPLE!! I don’t want to be rude at them. So I stood for 10 long min and listened to what he has to say. But do they understand that mocking at too many things youngsters do and giving free advice to strangers is not fair?

PS: I remembered Kareenas” KYU ki chiller nai hai mere paas scene “ from Jab we met! But ya well he wasn’t that rude to me! J so that wasn’t necessary!

Scene-3

This is in our own office!!! While eating our own PRISM (caterer) ka biryani….

After long---I went humming to food court took the 50/- token and without even looking at the surroundings I straight away headed to the PRISM biryani counter (well it’s not exotic but when nothing is exciting around this is the bestest thing to be excited about—FOOD)

I told him “Bhayya thoda spicy chahiye”

Vendor: “ Ok” and as there was no crowd he took his time to decorate the plate with some good pieces and stretched his hand to give away the hot steaming plate of biryani to me which I happily took from him

Its sharp 12 so FC was almost empty. I occupied the nearby table and after enjoying the sight of biryani(yes I do enjoy the sight of biryani too) I made a call to my friend who was on the way.

I was about to put a morsel of steaming rice and chicken in my mouth when a person came and stood infront of me

X: “Sorry to interrupt madam!How do U feel about the food”

Me thinking : “Now who is this alien who has come as a haddi between me and my biryani”

Thinking so I gave back a confused look at him

X: “I am actually PRISM’s Manager and I am taking feedback from every one”

I looked around and sighed as no one had a damn biryani plate with them.

Gave a vague smile at him and nodded

X: “Can you please give the feedback about the quality of biryani, how they are serving. We want to know the level of customer satisfaction”

Me: “Ya it is good !” (I was only concentrating on shooing him away as I didn’t want biryani to cool down)

X: “ NO mam! Please tell us if You have any complaints. We are here to serve You better”

It seemed like he was waiting from a week to blurt these lines and he couldn’t hunt any till now to use them.

Me: “Well at times even after giving your specifications you don’t get good pieces and biryani is not hot some times “** I looked longingly at my biryani which is cooling down

X:” Oh ! What happens na mam!! When there are too many people at times it gets tough”

Me: “Ya I understand”. Saying so I again try to eat

X: “But next time if you feel that You didn’t get good pieces feel free to return the plate and take another mam..”

Now how will I know that with out digging in to my biryani ?!?!

Me: “hmm Ok!!”and I start eating**

X: “ Please tell me if any other complaints mam”

Me: “ You serve only biryani . Yours is not a 5 star hotel that I keep on complaining about your services. Water not being chilled, AC not on or waiters not showing respect. Can you buzz off so that I can have my biryani?”

Well thought of saying this. But ended up saying

Me: “NOTHING AT ALL”

X:” Please note down whatever You told in the complaint book mam.. We have a meeting actually dialy evening by 5 .and as am the MANAGER . He stressed on it..I will let all know that they note down the specifications of the customers”

Oh boy that’s the limit ! now I was irritated! Even in the midst of irritation I remembered the Cleaning manager of ANGREZ

I started eating totally ignoring him

X: “Sorry to interrupt you while eating mam . Really sorry. Your good name mam?!”

Any thing to kick him out of the arena .

Me : “Afshan”

X: “Oh nice name Mam. Where Are you from?”

I have put the spoon down and told“ Why !? Do we have to write even that in the book?”with sarcasm mingled with glare!!

X: “NO! Simply mam. Please write the feedback.” Saying so he left.

After biryani I didn’t bother about the feedback.

Next day I went with different girls to the same food court and I had my box that day. Another girl took something from the same prism. Roti chicken I guess and we started eating

To my Horror!!

X standing just opposite to me: “ MAM !! MAM!!!”

I called my friend Whose back was facing him(the one having food court ka khaana): “ Hey I guess he is calling you.”

She turned around. He pointed me and told: “ am calling that madam!!”

GOSH!!!!

Me: Ya!??!

X: “you didn’t write feed back in the book mam”

Rest of the girls were suppressing giggles. I was feeling funny and mad too

Me: “ I forgot . Will do it”

X: “ please do it . I checked it yesterday mam!” with a super Chipmunk grin!

What the F!!!

I gave the feedback without fail in some notebook downstairs .My Friend told he was observing if we are writing or not and she advised to add in feedback “PRISM manager tortures a lot by asking continously for feedback” but I chucked the thought as I didn’t want him to haunt me again!!

"10 Day You Challenge--post 6". "5 Foods"!!!!!!!

Five foods

*Food* Yummm yumm *Slurp* What can be more interesting topic than this ? MEN? I guess NO!! Food has more varieties than MEN J

My uncle teases my aunt saying: “If she is given an option to chose between chicken biryani and him , without a second thought she will file a divorceJ “ .

People love food. It’s good to be a diet conscious person and take care of your body and keep a check on weight but doing it 24*7*12*365 is possible only if all your taste buds stop working and your sense organs are not working properly! Well I always wonder looking at the models, cine stars and those people who control their food cravings and appreciate them but always feel they are missing some fun and taste in life!! I get this feeling especially when I look at the not so appealing skinny and 0 sized bodies!! Anyway coming back to the FOOOD!!! Oh am a foodie...I haven’t tasted international cuisines.. So I won’t sound cool by saying my favorite food is Chinese , Italian , Brazilian or Macedonian whatsoever :P Now let me not make this post long and directly attack on my Top 5 foods!

1.)Chicken Biryani : Yummmmm. The Royal Nawaabi Food It’s a relief to enjoy the smell, sight ..(both zoom in and zoom out )when it’s still on stove and when served on dinner table. There is a technique to make it. My mom puts a roll of wheat as a seal around the vessel lid so that the rice becomes more frilly and it seems this gives a better taste to biryani. I never understand the technique as I am too charmed by the aroma and taste ! Cooking Hyd biryani is all together a different art ! But I like the native Andhra biryani better with Gongura chicken (spicy). I like almost all varieties of chicken! Lucknowi Biryani was also OK. Am No mutton / Prawn / fish eater. I try fish fry once in a while as they say it’s good for heart.

2.) Mango Pickle: Well frankly speaking am not interested in vegetables. They all look same to me!! I daily have Dal and vegetables as I have to have them and am a diet conscious person and no hard core meat eater ! But ya if I have to take one name I must say I love “Kairi” – Mango Pickle!! Which is again in the native Andhra style not the one from other places with a tinge of sweetness! I never liked it. One should taste the Andhra Avakaya with ghee in rice. Its mouthwatering . Even when am typing this its appetizing! I bet you would be mesmerized and may close your eyes when you actually eat as directed by me. Well Avakaya should be prepared nicely ofcourse!! The curd rice and Mango pickle is a hit combo too which is like a fast food when no food is in reach and nothing can be cooked and you are in a hurry!

3.) Maggi Noodles with Ruffles lays chips : I religiously decorate my plate whenever I make Maggi noodles or mom makes and I manytimes have it outside too . Everyone has their own Maggi story as they advertise it ! Maggi is the bestest and the fastest food among all the foods invented so far and available in too many flavours. Chicken maggi , egg maggi , veg maggi , Paneer maggi. Yummmm all with Ketch up. Recently When I have been to client location I had total 10-15 flavours of maggi for a month or so!!!! And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MAGGI! Of all I had I loved Corn Maggi J lays chips as a side dish is good with Maggi!

4.) Chat : Well who doesn’t love chat.. I drool even by seeing the menu. Samosa chat , Ragda chat , Sev puri, Raj Kachori, Dahi puri , Pani Puri , Bhel puri , Pav bhaji Extra pav, Papdi chat so on so forth !Chat Bhandar is the most fav adda to me when ever I meet my friends/ cousins or even if I am alone and have nothing to do ! If theres one thing I can never stop eating it would be chat after the chicken!! If after all recessions and great depressions I lose my job then I will surely start a “Chat gaadi”with few friends and few special native cuisines added to the menu. Got a chance to taste the original Rajasthani chat lately when I was in Jaipur!

5.) Kaddu ka kheer/ Sheer khurma : I don’t have a sweet tooth and eating too many sweets makes me feel drowsy at times K ( I don’t really know the reason). I don’t enjoy sweets. But two sweets which I can never stop relishing are kaddu ka kheer and sheer khurma. Sheer khurma is Ramzan special all over the world, and there are many varieties in it with condensed milk..also called sevayya !There is a variety with dry fruits and there is also dum ke sevayya which are orange in color and crispy ..Chauba acts as topping made of khopra (dry coconut scrape) and baadaaam , akhrot and other dry fruits. This topping is yummier than the sevayya to me J Making Kaddu ka kheer is again an art. Have it with Milk maid and mail me if you don’t feel heavenly J

"10 Day You Challenge--post 5". "6 Places"!!!!!!!

Six places I always want to visit!!!

It’s very tough to write this coz I am not much in to travelling and there are very less places which I already visited but there are many in my list which I would wantto visit!

Some things in this post may seem repetitive but well as it is a post about me cant help the repetition !:)

1.) Before mentioning big big desires I want to roam around INDIA which is the biggest desire. Around the India in how many ever days it takes. An expedition, exploration, a relaxation. Among the places I saw the ones I wanna go again and again would be Vizag(for beach), Mumbai (for its vastness), Coorg, Araku (for serenity), Hyderabad(for obvious reasons)!Among places which I have never visited Shimla , Kashmir , Goa , Kerala , Pondicherry ,Andaman and Nicobar islands and many hill stations are in hit list. Tajmahal one of the wonders is a place which i already visited but would love to visit that historical part of India (Ajmer, Agra, Rajasthan) again and always!! Our india is always “Incredible”

2.)China: Yes I wanna visit China. “Great wall of china” has reputation as the only human work on the globe which is visible from the moon. Have a strong desire to go and stand on it J I always feel mesmerised by the ancient civilization , history , clothes , traditions ,people of china. Would love to explore the place and use chopsticks too, but maybe I have to survive only on noodles and fried rice till I stay there :p .Would love to peep in to Chinese prophecies and see what Kung fu , dragon and Martial arts are all about :D and ya I would love to hit Japan too and check out some erupting volcanoes!!

3.) Egypt: The pyramids and mummies.Aren’t they mysterious?!! Who would not want to get a glimpse of this wonder once in life time? If I get a chance I would definitely explore Egypt and obviously would love to thoroughly understand the culture and traditions of people there. It’s always fun to meet new people

4.)Niagara falls: It would be one of the best days of my life when i get a glimpse of these humongous, one of the largest water falls which extend between Canada and Newyork. I don’t have the exact data of their height , length and width .If ever I get a chance to visit I would be ecstatic and won’t b able to describe how exactly I would be feeling watching this natures wonder!

5.) Europe-Italy: No “The davinci code” book/movie is not the reason for this thing to creep in to my mind.

From long somehow “Italy” used to sound fascinating. A country of art, love, romance! In Roman mythology Cupid is the God of desire , affection and love. Well not to fall in love ;) but would love to know the secrets of this wonderful place!!I would love to go to the place and explore the works of Leonardo Davinci and Michelangelo likes and Italy is worlds top Wine producer. Well have to see how enchanting and how sedative the place is if at all I go ;)

6.) Home: After I finish my expeditions and explorations around Egypt, China, Niagara , Rome I would always want to come back to my home sweet home where ever it is J

PS: Given a chance I would go around the world not in 80 days but 800 days to that matter any number of days may be the whole life well revenue is one thing to think of: p actually the only thing to think of !!!!.......

Here I go

I badly need/want a “Thought Machine” [Like a magic quill Kind] which can read my thoughts and simultaneously type them out in a word doc or on a paper. It’s a pain to type ! It should read my thoughts as if am dictating and pen them down with the needed editions and truncations ;)

I want to write a book!

Whenever a weekend comes there are many Hangouts but to me an ideal hangout will be a still lake side or river side[Not like the smelly Hussain sagar] with colorful pebbles , waves touching your feet gently and gentle breeze letting your hair fly , where you can sit , spread a mat lie down , listen to music and relax [a drizzle is always welcome]. I would want to go to such a place at least once in a month and to a sea shore at least once in a quarter. Planning to go soon J

I want to visit any serene hill station frequently and stay away from pollution , buzz and people

I want to learn skating!!!This would be very silly to say but when I saw Salman and Raveena Skating when I was in school in the song “ Kabhi tu chaila lagta hai from Pathar ke phool” I wanted to learn skating and joined the summer classes in the near by town club but I FORGOT NOW how to skate K So wanna learn again.

I want to learn Sketching. I do pencil sketches, but want to excel in it and want to learn stitching and painting from my mom who excels in it

I want to sing!!!I mean seriously learn singing!! Not to participate in “Indian Idol” or “X-factor” but I believe I have a good voice J

"10 Day You Challenge--post 3". "8 Fears"!!!!!!!

Fears !!! Yeowww .. Even when I write this word . I feel shaky and scared !! K But when I give a second thought like Harry potter “I Fear the Fear most” ,like when he looks at boggart it turns to dementor !!! J

For Non HP folks -- > [boggart is a shape-shifting creature that takes on the form of the viewer's worst fear]

[A dementor is a Dark creature, considered one of the foulest to inhabit the world. Dementors feed off human happiness, and thus cause depression and despair to anyone near them]. I Fear the fear most but the sources which generate fear are sometimes many sometimes None!! I show vigor at times and am quite a cissy-missy many a times!

Ø Energy Drainers: I fear them a lot. They are as good as Dementors!! Trying to demotivate you all the while. Trying to magnify your negatives , pulling you down , making you feel hollow. Well theres nothing much to say about them. I have spoken a lot on them. I shoo them away may be with the help of a patronus (some nice feelings and people around).

[For NON HP Folks-- A Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory… Allow it to fill you up... lose yourself in it... then speak the incantation "Expecto Patronum"."]

Ø Fear of people who install fear in U: I can’t elaborate the varieties in it!! There are these terrorists and all kind of criminals who make innocents disappear like puff of a smoke and I can’t mention few things here. FEW PEOPLE install fear in a fashionable way by sending Fwd mails by showing “LIFE AFTER DEATH SCENES” and how you are burnt in hell if you are not god fearing ! ! Engulfing fear around peace, divinity and gentler things is something which I never understand and have stopped understanding! I can neither fight nor overcome this fear!

Ø Fear of losing people: This fear used to grip me a lot earlier!! Wanted to mention it as I had it for long (may be I still have itK). Am kinda used to good-byes now!! While leaving school and some age old friends I realized bidding Farewell is not my cup of tea when I had shed tears very easily!!!Later on there were many such junctures and I GOT USED to it. But still the fear sustains. May be this is the reason I sometimes fear of getting too close to the most likeable people!!

Ø Fear of getting old: When I see old age homes or for that matter the elder citizens (retired folks) at home! I fear THE IDLE LIFE a lot!! Sometimes it feels like “THE IDEAL LIFE” is over. Its fine if you stay occupied with few works!!But I fear WHAT IF I STAY TOTALLY IDLE? What if I AM LEFT LONELY? What if my hair is totally grey? and there is NONE AT HOME!! Sorry if am giving U jolts J but I do have such fears :D – ( Few days back some one wrote even when I turn 80 and am swinging in my old rocking chair I will be reading Harry potter ;)—May be I can do this!!! Slowly, feebly turning page by page. The 7 books may keep me alive for 7 more years :P )

Ø Fear of Memory Loss: Sometimes I get so overloaded with thoughts and ideas (mostly before or after sleep: P )that I feel When I wake up I will forget everything including "who am i?"!! or at times like some short term memory loss I may forget in next half hr. Sometimes I have an instant urge to pen down the thoughts as and when I get them. its not possible all the times and when I try recollecting them later they aren’t that effective.

Ø Fear of getting adapted: I can’t easily get adapted to a new place, new people, new food , new climate. It’s not actually a fear but U Can say DISCOMFORT. If I shift to a new place it takes me at least 3-4 days to get a proper night’s sleep J

Ø Fear of being able to easily trust people: This quality has not helped much! And most of the times the stark realization is being nice takes you nowhere. Doesn’t mean being rude takes U some where !! :D You have to just keep oscillating between both depending on situation and sometimes it feels that you should JUST NOT REACT!!I often think Life is flowery bedded and then realize one shouldn’t trust blindly! But sometimes our whims , reflexes act fastest and decide for us!!

That’s it I CANT THINK Of many more fears May be I need to end the number with 8!!

Ø Fear of Food cravings: With lavish spread of food in a city like hyderabad this is the commonest fear anyone has ;) ;) Tempting the taste buds and then feel guilty :P ! If I go to a wedding I try hard to not give a head turn in the direction of that favourite pastry or kheer or many varieties of spicy chicken. But if the whiff is too strong and pulls me like a snake charmer pulls the snake well You know the consequences right :P

"10 Day You Challenge--post 2". "9 Loves"!!

Well Well Love !!!

Love is in the air.. If we keep on telling what all we love I am damn sure the list will go from Kashmir to Kanyakumari but as part of the challenge started on sunday(due to time constraints couldnt continue immediately :| )I want to pen down the Top nine Loves of my Life!!! After revealing secrets which almost seem like my “LOVABLE” wishes/desires I don’t know what exactly to write here:-o Anyway here I ago!!

1.) Home sweet home: Who doesn’t love it. It’s quite silly to mention. But as I am starting from 1. I need to say . Home, Mom , Dad and My elder Bro. Where ever I go on this earth . Would always love to come back home and rest in peace

2.) My Huge Book Rack!!I want to expand it to a mini library and when I get old I am damn sure if my eye sight is good [after the laser treatment, cataracts so on so forth :P ] I will keep on reading

3.) Music/My IPOD: Especially all the Hindi melodies, 60s to 90s. Need to collect more n more! It’s so soothing and whenever I listen to them where ever I am, travelling in a bus, waiting for the train, engulfed by my thoughts. Music just gives the relaxation needed and outlet for thoughts

4.) My Laptop: My dear dear laptop . If given a chance like in some villages people marry trees first as its some tradition they believe. I would marry my laptop :P It helps me to “Write” . This writing habit emerged coz of my laptop so I love it!

5.) Mom Dad’s Wedding Album : I Love browsing through it again and again and I feel so thrilled every time and love browsing through the things she preserved like wedding gifts , saree etc etc! I feel excited.I LOVE THEIR MEMORIES! Till date I argue with them why didn’t they try to get a vedio of wedding L

6.) Home Made food: Take me to Taj, Take me to Oberoi or any other newly opened restaurant in the city especially Hyderabad being a place famous for FOOD I would always want to come back home and have that elaichi tea made by my mom or maggi noodles and chicken biryani . As a matter of fact anything and every thing made by her. I hope I learn atleast 20% of her skills and survive

7.) Slam Book/ Poetry: I always hold it carefully (the school slam book) as if its “Handle with care” thing in fear of spoiling it .The whole scribbling in the book is too near to my heart. Especially written by some of my teachers which are imprinted in my brain but I still love reading them again and again. How they felt about me!!!!!(The most favorite one is by my English mam Rezina) and I love spontaneous poetry written by me or my friends

8.) Family Get togethers: Earlier it used to be summer holidays from april till june for which I used to eagerly wait the whole year. There is no scope for it now but whenever we meet its all “ruckus” and feels like good old times are back! Now that there is a third generation my new loves are the kiddos Omi, Dani , Husna , Suhaan , Tabish and Ayaan !!ofcourse there’s no risk to show partiality here. Ayaan is my hero J

9.) My Friends : Yes life is so dull and incomplete in their absence . Today I read in some mail “Friends are the Family U choose for Yourself”. I Love those dear ones whom I can reach any time and talk anything without giving a second thought.

10 Day You Challenge--post 1. Ten secrets!!

Challenges are challenging and most of the times stressful and sweat on the brow is for sure guaranteed to reach the zenith but no challenge will act as a stress buster as much as the below one does and by the time you complete it you will feel good on accomplishing it and it will for sure bring a smile on your face. Well so if you feel like taking it up enter this 10day You challenge and pen down ALL ABOUT YOU!!!Here I go with my first day.10 secrets about me...aaaha!! Hold on.. Secrets which can be revealed ofcourse. The darkest and deepest secrets are meant to be secrets. So here are few secrets which can be shared and few are like open secrets J

So read on friends and take up the challenge if you like it !Meet again tomorrow

1.) I want to spend a week in future ofcourse in a remotest / least populated island with my most fav person .They say Pitcairn Islands in South pacific ocean is one of the least populated islands as of now with just 50 people(9 families precisely). If going there is not affordable atleast phuket islands or some other islands but a week atleast. Is some body saying amen!?? IF NO say it J

2.) I really hate people who just jump in to blogs / write ups and keep abusing in the name of criticism and who themselves cannot write a noteworthy or praiseworthy or comment/critic worthy stuff. All they want to take is “The magnifying of your negative aspects” challenge. I keep a distance from them(VERY LONG). If they try and get approachable well they get a piece of my mind in return

3.) I am obsessed with workouts be it daily walking or gym and am a foodie too and I though get hyper at times when I hog on food J I know how to balance it and am ready to join the group of people who ever have such real obsessions and share and take tips but people who never have an intention to work out keep giving or asking tips which makes me laugh

4.) I have strong liking for people who speak their heart out and who are naturally witty / funny when needed and keep their heart to themselves when situation demands be it a man or woman and a strong dislike for people who keep on highlighting “I SPEAK WITH ALL MY HEART” continuously as if I use my liver and kidney and who try to bring out their over-witty-funny-smarty nature with lotta effortJ

5.) I would love to take part in Burkha dutts “We the people NDTV” .if not take part just sit in audience beside burkha atleast in one episode not coz am crazy about her but as i need to grab the microphone to ask too many questions !!

6.) I love my girl friends (the closest ones). Am quite partial about them as I can speak my heart , liver , pancreas and kidney to them ;) and they can really understand it and come to my rescue especially when I fall face flat . Sometimes they understand it even when I don’t speak unlike many boys! I will anyways be writing a total article on girl friends sooner!:)

7.) I love Shahrukh khan. This love is MAD and unconditional and nothing can be done to repair it. He inspires me and I have a burning desire to meet him before I die and if possible take his interview and my most imp que will be “How do you handle the brick bats along with appraisal and move on in life and be successful?” and I wish my pulse rate to be normal when he shows that twinkle in eyes and that dimple in cheeks and gives some witty answer when that adams apple keeps tumbling![oops my *hearts already skipping a beat ;)*]

You Join a forum for some time pass , fun , some productive discussion , to know thoughts of people from new horizons, news , jokes , movie reviews , some interactions you wanna get involved in , some discussions totally uncalled for where you would wanna act just a silent spectator / ignore , last but not the least some new friend (!??) FRANNDSHIP (bahhh)! I absolutely loathe these unknown online friendships/Frandships which as of now are like blind hunts in a wild jungle and then a "Franchise" to grade / bash u / ridicule U!!!! In the beginning its all exciting till the newness or freshness wears off. Some one knows you in college alumni or in some forum or in some blog or through some xyz contacts and adds U! And U DONT mind coz after all theres no harm. Its all so simple, silly ,easy. You can talk talk talk ..but what ?!? What are U gonna talk !! At some point doesn’t it get saturated and most of them add by looking at your DP/ your name/ may be at times in most despo conditions just the gender(this applies to both girls/boys . Am not being gender biased)

I can bet my life on this that If I put an unknown girls hot pic i will get 20 frnd requests that day ! Sharing a news on a forum or discussing a issue once in a while is ok but having personal tiffs / arguments and grading each other’s nature or giving personal threats is a crime which has no law to punish ! Have any of You given a thought of all the #of friends you have on facebook/ any other social network and with how many You actually talk and how many you actually know / personally interacted and can call them as your friend!!...People strangely feel happy about their no. Of friends . I have seen some putting it as status message too . Today i have got 1000 friends yippee and they all know me or I know them all . The latter half is hard to believe. Well even if he knows them. Yes he knows them. He is as good as a celebrity ..but they being labelled as friends is what surprises me!With this relation people take so much liberty that I seriously feel that with so many laws these days (even there is section 377 for gays )I hope a law for even FB crimes are framed where a friend when harassed can report the same at court rather than on FB. Ya there is report/ Block option on FB. But I hope there is some legal action as well in loop with this . We must have heard of Cyber Crimes but about these mental harassments which start in the name of frand-ships and are all of a sudden are energy draining should also be punished!! I am saying this coz there are many sick people around who are playing safe in a hoodwink along with good people and most of the times in these online relations its very hard to predict whos who and whos what !? It is tough ! Its always good to improve networking but when you come across these troubled heads you feel “ bhaad me jaaye networking” .

Opinions differ. Still people try hard to say ,am right U r Wrong !!!

All have brains. Intelligence is some thing which is like tax free these days and everybody is earning it easily . Not all have a big heart to hold others opinions as well and be empathetic! They fight till their last breathe to prove their point and they want to go to any level to prove their point. Even if I say I don’t wanna get dragged some try hard to make us lose temper and break the attitude and moreover challenge saying it feels good to break strong attitudes. Well its high time to end it then and there and we end it!

I thought how can some one who was utterly sweet in the beginning suddenly start this personal judgement!! Or with this label of witty prankster how can one fool around all the time I MEAN c’mon WE NEVER MET!! We are not school friends neither work place friends. We just interacted on some writer’s / bloggers forum!!! To cut jokes and have a fun filled atmosphere is good ! its lively in a mundane office atmosphere but it surprises me when people easily cross the barricades which they shouldn’t and ask all kind of personal questions. Once/ twice its bearable! We can forgive and forget thinking “OK as we spoke for longer may be he/she got carried away and this que popped up in his empty cauldron like brain where nothing is brewing as of now!” but always and all-ways. NO ITS NOT DONE!!!!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY HAVE PPL GOT NOTHING GOOD TO DO IN LIFE......!?

Even if you are jobless there are countless things to keep yourself occupied! “IDLE MANS BRAIN IS DEVILS WORKSHOP” Someone told it very aptly . Here i see many vampires ready to suck the blood out of the normal folklore!but today I want to tell only TROUBLED people want to create trouble to others

Good news episode

Theres some one who is always surprised if i look extra fair/ bright/ happy who usually interacts with me only online once in a blue moon.Suddenly out of the blue the stranger is at my desk . I politely give a welcome smile

XYZ: Hey Afshan. What yaar any news

Me a bit surprised : No y?

XYZ: You looking so bright. So!!

Me: [SO what SO!? ]No nothing! Thanks anyway. [I don’t know how to acknowledge such appraisals as they are always appended with she-has-some-news-for-sure kind of a doubt]

XYZ: No tell us na!! I guess you are hiding something? with a wicked glint in the eyes

Me: What ? Nothing to hide! There is no good news.[What will i hide!?!Am neither eloping with any boy friend nor going on some other secret mission. What should i cook up and tell K]

XYZ: Looking at your face I thought You have at least something to tell .Thought you got the prospective groom

Me: Now people!! I SERIOUSLY wanna go and bash the one who coined this “IGNORANCE IS BLISS”.If the one who is asking me all these questions with that forever bliss on the face is ignorant then man ignorance might be bliss to the one adorned by it but THE BLISS IS PAIN IN ASS TO THE ONE WHO IS questioned

Some people just can’t digest others happiness irrespective of major events in life! According to their scale if happiness is measured from 1 to 10

It goes like below

Ø 1 for singles

Ø 4.5 for committed people

Ø 6 for committed people who go on continous dates and get too many gifts

Ø 8 for married couples

Ø 10 to pregnant moms and the respective dads or who just delivered and made the family complete.

According to them others who fall in 1 or 2 just cant be happy or look bright or beautiful. They cant climb the happiness ladder. They try hard to break the rungs of the ladder so that you fall down.I may sound caustic but credit goes to the 10 pointers who bombarded the peculiar questions many times. I mean if they are really so happy so satisfied by their lives and so beautiful/ handsome and smart y this nose poking!

Lastly my advise to ESPECIALLY girls over there who are sensitive

1.) Do not trust some one blindly only coz of the “ONLINE” face and the impressive pings /mails after an interaction over a forum

2.) Even if you talk and want to improve your network limit it to 2-3 min formal talk. REMEMBER NEVER BEYOND THAT

3.) It’s good to be pessimistic at times. Not all can be good

4.) People who add You by your foto or some silly odd convo .A BIG NO NO...STAY AWAY...just coz he is sweet don’t be under impression he will stay sweet

5.) If you are witty most of them are not going to resist it . Y GIVE A CHANCE TO SOME BUGGER to try hard to break it

6.) If someone shows a over dose of smartness and is trying to win over you in person ,well not a good sign!!

7.) Any social network addiction is horrendous. Forums are good once in a while but lot of interaction is useless/worthless/mindless/baseless

8.) DONT LET any TOM DICK HARRY judge you girls. You deserve all the self esteem. This is even for boys....but GIRLS pls watch out . Be extra careful . (am adding this as recently i heard 2-3 cases where girls had to delete or deactivate their profiles due to a serious satyriasis case or nymphomaniacs)

9.) If you have talent you have it .If u don’t want to talk to someone you don’t want to U DONT have to!U HAV FULL RIGHTS TO DECIDE ABOUT YOU . DONT fall in the TRAP of some moron who says things to U as if he knows U. Don’t be so excited that you came across a doppelganger or an alter ego in a forum! If you feel there are negative vibes no need to still let him/her get on your nerves

10.) Family / Books / close friends / Television / movie are better recreations. Try to be away from being online as much as possible (This is much to myself but others can follow if they feel it good and chuck it if u feel it’s like preaching)

Grouches pull u down!! But i feel some people who always wear that fake smile and over project their happiness and keep nudging others doubting their happiness are sicker and can pull you more down. So people please watch out!!

To describe some people there are no better words in dictionary or any language

The dark black clouds spread in the sky,

Sucking all the brightness before they cry!

They shout in rage and burst in to heavy showers,

The relief and calm is soothing like it is after tears!

First the bright white lightening and roar of the thunder,

It shows that one can be bold and pretty stronger!
Then the sudden mist of rain drops and torrents,
Strength has limits, to let out fears there are no warrants!

The green plants and the bird cooing once washed by rains,

The nature’s canopy can fill peace by a single glance!

Your mood on watching the rainbow colours will enhance,

The smell of the mud can just leave you in a deep trance!

Then there are bright blooming red, yellow pink flowers,

When you see a pair you feel they are entangled like lovers!

A kid’s smile and the multi colours have same powers,

Both bring bliss however wavering might be your hours!

The colour of the sky and sea so pure and deep blue,

Gazing at them makes you feel godly and true!

The vast creations where they start and end there is no cue,

The sky and sea merge at some point blending the hue!!

The withered leaves of a tree so brittle and brown,

They no longer breathe life they always fall down!

Indicating the past should be forgotten saving a frown,

A new memory and a new life helps rather than a mourn!!

God’s nature has different hidden lessons to learn,

To just sit and watch it is a great treasure one can earn!

Here is yet again the day !!when I remember the telugu movie Money Where our Koteswara Rao…Says “Same card . Same story only names different” – when a person comes to invite for his wedding!:)

The much awaited Hike letters arrive and the much unwanted analysis after it. I can see people clapping around my cubicle. Some distributing sweets. Some feverishly using the Calc option after long on their phones/ lappy /computer and hoping to see the number changes atleast the third time they calculate it . Some people go to treat , Some stay indifferent , Some are over joyous , some just discuss among themselves . Some shout loudly their achievement. Some sulk at their not so great hikes! But in midst of all this there will be one person one so called person who can be named as HPOA— “Hugely possessed of the Over smart attitude” . Where ever he goes . Whatever he is doing he will not miss a chance to poke his nose around and to shoot questions at people and bug them , bother them till he gets a response . whatever it might be . Even if people shoo him away. He doesn’t care. He would patiently wear a fake smile and try to get a response till his last ounce of sweat and blood are used in this effort. He will go to person x

HPOA: “ Hey whats your hike %”

X : “Not much”

HPOA: “tell na yaar! Every one has got less. Theres no harm in revealing right”

X: “---%”

HPOA: “ That’s it!! You know Nag. He joined 6months late compared to you. How come he got a role change and more hike and not you ??”

X: A bit boiling “Ask him”!

HPOA : “Don’t worry !! U will also get it soon or else try hard and shift na “

X : “Whats your hike %”

HPOA: Not much yaar . Just ---%

X: “ You know Reshma. She joined as a lateral . Has less experience than you and gets more per anum”

HPOA Walks away but this dirty business of mocking each other starts running in each others blood

HPOA Goes to person Y

HPOA: “ Hey You got a role change”

Y: “Nopes”

HPOA: “ You should ask your manager and fight yaar. You shouldn’t sit silent”

Y : “ I have asked. There are lot many in queue he says”!!

HPOA: “ Then go to SPM..DM”

Y: “ see its ok I am fine. If I want to I will go “

HPOA: “arey don’t get frustrated. There are lot many opportunities out. Try your luck”

Y: “ I was not frustrated till you started suggesting HPOA”

HPOA giggles and walks out

And now goes to she . lets name her Z

HPOA: “ Hey Z! Wow . what a nice dress you are wearing yaar”

Z : “hmm Thanks”

HPOA: “U seem low! What happened ?? Don’t tell me its hike”

Z: “ Yes it is the reason”

HPOA : “ Come on how does that bother U! Your would be is in ABC company and he will any way bring lot of fortune to you . You can just sit back and relax”

Z: “ I can’t. Actually I gave my best this cycle. Still no use”

HPOA: “OH come on dear!! Come lets just forget it and celebrate. Lets go to CCD”

Z: still sulking : “No I aint interested”

HPOA: “ Oh come on ! Don’t be a spoil sport. Ok I will take you to a new restaurant opened in banjara hills and then some shopping! OK “

Z : “ Yep fine! Great idea ..chalo and ya I am not bringing my card ! its your treat right ?!!”

HPOA (gulping) : “ yep”

So HPOA’s big nose can never hesitate from smelling whats cooking in the neighbors broth.

Meanwhile I suddenly remember Raju Srivastava (stand up comedian’s interview) when he was voted out of BigBoss !

Amitabh asked him : “ You are so jovial , Fun loving but still people didn’t like you to such an extent that you can stay back for some more days”

Raju : “Am a jovial person. Can create fun atmosphere..But I cant express the immense happiness or joy like many are doing there. When bigboss sends us dal and some chawal I feel content and enjoy my dish but I don’t dance and party on it shouting.Hey dekho daaaaaaal aagaya !! Chaawall …..Thank You big boss. Thanks a ton! May be I didn’t qualify at all to join the clan”. Not to debate on why he was voted out and who was actually HPOA the other residents or raju J but yeah if dal chawal is a hike ..There can be variety of reactions !

Over celebration of one’s joy is fine but Over celebration highlighting other persons under or not so celebration is a demonic feature which prevails now and then . Its must to learn to ignore or shoo them away or trap them in response or shut your mouth..like the way :WHEN U R IN DEEP SHIT SHUT YOUR MOUTH. But reacting to them or sulking more will lead to the HPOA's Victory!

I was coming out of the conference room after the one hour long session when Ria shouted running behind me

Ria :" Meghaaa Meghaaaa!! What parlor does that seema hit Yaar! She looks extremely beautiful these days? Have You observed the change ?"

Me : "Extremely beautiful. What made you think so!?"

Ria : "Well she got her hair straightened, her skin is glowing and her lip has a different shape now. Definitely she has undergone some surgery as well. Her dad is in real estate business and she has filthy sacks of money"

Me: Ha ha ha OK!!

Ria : "You are smiling now. Be careful ..She is after Rajiv your all time Love"

Me (rolling eyes) : "If he is so much attracted to her beauty and wants her. Let him go for it. Am not stopping . Neither i know the right places to go for my beauty enhancement nor do i have the filthy money "

Ria : Well start knowing then. You are taking it very easy dear! That seema is a daayan. She can go to any extent. You will repent

Me: Lets see

Ria: "You keep seeing . You don’t know these boys. This day they are with one girl and next day they find a more pretty girl they easily send the previous one to recycle bin."

Me : “Riaaaaaaaa! You are just being hyper. Even You don’t look for guys who are very normal, shy or very average . Do you ? you have all your eyes for Rajiv , George or look alikes who have great physique , who are happening , chirpy right ? Its natural baby ! Stop blaming them "

Ria: "Well hummmm! Leave me. I am not serious about Rajiv George or who ever. But you are serious about Rajiv, So its my duty to warn you as a friend. Your relation is still in a bud stage. Dont allow some Devil pluck it. Anyway its been almost 2yrs when are you guys going for a date atleast??!"

Me : “Oh meri maa! My dear poetess. Warning taken !!Now stop scaring me. I will keep a check on him . Happy!?”

Ria : "OK! Am done for the day. Leave soon. Traffic sucks these days!!”

Me: “ After that onsite call i will also start”

Ria :” Aahaaaaan!! I know the real reason for this half hr delay.. Car pooling with Rajiv and then traffic jam haan ;)!”

I beat with notepad on Ria’s back and said “You can go now” with a mock scowl on my face

Ria : ha ha .. OK darling!! Have a happy and safe drive;)

Rajiv :" Hey Megha!! Done with the call??. So you are coming in the car today ?"

Me: "Ya if No problem . I will get down at Abids"

Rajiv : "why will I have problem. I hope you don’t have any issue. Today we have a new passenger!”

Me : “New who ?!”

Rajiv gave way to her in to cubicle and it was quite dramatic when i saw Seema coming in to cubicle fluttering her eyelashes.

Seema: "Oh Megha! !!!I hope You don’t mind me joining"

Me:" Of course not! Why will i?? Am neither the car owner nor Rajiv’s mother! "(OH GOSH!! That was a bad line)

Some how Rajiv and Seema managed a silly laugh

Rajiv : “ Ok megha ! we will be waiting infront of the building . Come fast”

As they were leaving not to mention the redness out of jealousy on my face i observed how neat were Seema’s curves , her skin , blush and makeup which didn’t wear off even by evening or was she going for rounds of touch ups to the rest room!!Her hair length crossed her hips and was so soft and straight that it looked better than fake hair they show in shampoo ads! I immediately bent down as if to take my hand bag when she looked back giving a vague smile at me. May be she sensed I was gaping at her. I quickly gathered my things and rushed to rest room.I felt my evening image in the mirror extra horrible that day !! i didn’t bother looking again in to mirror.

They were already waiting at the gate for me! And what i see is Seema sitting in the front seat!! And they were so animated in their conversation that i was unnoticed till I came and knocked on the glass window so that they unlock it. I sat in the back seat

Seema turned her head in my direction: “ Hey i will be getting down before your stop. So where you stay and with whom”

After few formality questions she turned towards Rajiv and they were chatting and chatting as if nothing is happening around them. I tried concentrating on the music. But the song “Ajnabee mujhko itna bataa dil mera kyu pareshan hai” did not help me.

Finally her stop came.

Seema : “ Bye rajiv. Bye megha!! Thanks for the lift”

Rajiv : “ Thanks to you!! Grace of the car doubled today”

I immediately looked at him with a jerk!! Huh!! A GUY IS A GUY!

Seema with extra blush on her face : “ Oh am flattered. See ya tomorrow and i don’t mind beautifying the things dialy “ She looked at me with a sense of pride or is it happening in my head. I coughed a bit as Rajiv started car

Rajiv: “Oh Megha ! come over to front seat na”

Megha : “ No am fine here” with sternness in voice

Rajiv with a puzzled nod : “Okay”. I Was giving single word replies to what ever he was asking.

After reaching the PG I was little sceptical. Is it beauty which is every thing that attracts boys!! I stood in front of mirror observing my reflection. Am a mere 5’ 2” and my measurements Gosh!! I don’t want to relook at them. I Can’t say i have a model like figure and am short a bit chubby and my friends always call me a cute teddy. My hair messed up. I have big eyes but never really took extra care and mascara to me is meant for weddings or parties . . I had put my hands on hips turnedaround , clock wise and anti clock wise and was not satisfied by my image. GOD i never crosschecked so many times how i looked. I washed my face with moisturiser. Applied the night cream which was resting in the shelf from many days and tried to get some sleep thinking Was Ria true ?? and chanting “ TO HELL WITH RAJIV and all OTHER BOYS”

Next day morning i took extra care on how i looked. Applied eye liner carefully. Took the lipstick which matched my red dupatta and applied carefully after i bordered my lips with lip liner. I had let my hair loose . No its not good so i had put the butterfly clip and good its looking nice now!!i looked at my nails and thought they need a manicure. After doing the final touch up i rushed for the bus.

Ria in Pantry :“Some body told she did not care about being extra careful about how she looks” with a gleam in her eyes

I sighed thoughtfully

Ria coming closer: “ IS everything Ok. Well i sense its not ok. Look whos there” she gave a fake smile waving at Rajiv and Seema who were coming towards us with juice glasses in hand

Rajiv : “Morning!! Ria Megha..See i have been discussing with Seema about tomorrows event”

God he immediately started conversation involving seema. Did he observe that i looked good today L

Ria : “ what about that event”

Rajiv : “ Well i want Seema to anchor the show and Megha can take care of the participants' costumes and back stage works”

Ria: “ Why back stage. Megha is capable of anchoring. She even did for...”

I stopped her in middle and said : “ Its ok Rajiv. My plate is full. Anyway i cant come for rehearsal. So its better i take care of back stage”

Ria gave an irritable look at me.

Rajiv : “Sounds good! Chalo seema you can rehearse for the anchoring. Ok Girls. Catch you tomorrow” Saying so they both left she laughing loud and beating Rajiv at some silly joke the idiot cracked. I never had so many butterflies in my stomach and I never hated anyone so much!

It was the event day and there was lot of buzz around. I didn’t bother how i looked even though Ria advised me to wear that shining single tinkling anklet (its a trend to wear a single anklet). I just applied the daily lipgloss and kaajal. Tied my hair with a band and wore a full white dress . After all its ok to look normal. Am a back stage material . Its Seema who has to look good . I observed from back stage how they were enjoying each others company! ! and Rajiv was not even leaving her for a second. They looked like “MADE FOR EACH OTHER” I turned away and some how couldn’t stand there even for a min. I cursed myself for not hitting gym or parlors regularly. I was leaving the stage when Rajiv approached. “ Hey megha! Where are you running”

Me : “am not feeling well Rajiv. I will go take some rest”

Rajiv : “ Oh shall i drop You . i can manage. I will come”

Me: “ No! Its really OK (Does he even remember tomorrow is my bday)”

I reached room. It was 5min to 12:00. My room mates were still at the event. Probably DJ must be going on now and i imagined Rajiv dancing with seema in his arms and immediately pushed the thought to back of my mind. I switched on the light and fan in my room . Many colored papers with happy birthday megha written on them fell all over me and there was a gift pack on my bed with a letter under it . on the gift it was written. Not a big surprise. I know you love books. So this P.G. Woodhouse collection for you!! I was too much excited to open the package. Instead I tore the envelope immediately

Thats all I ran to the door in almost two long jumps and When i unbolted the door.. Rajiv , Ria , Praveen , Gita all were standing there holding cake, balloons and gifts and Rajiv holding a bouquet and all were singing loud the bday song. I let them in and gave a bear – hug to Rajiv. When I checked my reflection in the mirror it gave me a messy haired, withered tearful smiling look back . But somehow I FELT am the MOST LOVED AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN in the WORLD

Tonight I was dreamy and lost my sleep

The chiselled body and the voice so deep

My heart missed a bit and it did leap

New seeds of love being sowed somewhere to reap

The sharp looks and the wink teasing me,

The skin so smooth like a pearl in the sea!

A single sight of him makes me glee,

Will you stay for some more time I want to plea!!

Day to day work keeps me busy,

Food is not great and the boss is lousy!

Afternoons when I feel drowsy,

It’s all because of him till evening it feels rosy!

The day has finally come,

He looks more trendy and more handsome!

It feels like he travelled from Rome to Home,

He looks like the God sitting on throne,

All folks want to be with him all alone !!

Guess what ? He is now dancing on my finger tips

He makes me dance when melodiously he sings

Whenever i feel him near the immense happiness he brings

I feel proud to have him and my neighbour she feels the stings !

Am with him all the day and whole night,

I want to sleep with him holding him tight!

Unconditionally and absolutely I love You so much

Every thing seems simple here. Nothing is an issue. Except the girl and the boy falling for each other (Some times few beneficial reasons .Some times No specific Reason)	Every thing seems complex here. Girl , Girls parents , Boy , Boys parents, Grandparents , Girls aunt, boys aunt and if possible Ramu Kaaka every one should like each other J
Both girl and boy should persuade their parents and if needed raise voice against them	Both parents if they are not willing raise voice against their girl / boy even if they like each other . If the parents like the boy/girl its very likely that the boy/girl dont like each other. Parent kid likes vary many times and there is no strong reason to go against each one’s decision because its after all *ARRANGED*marriage
It is decided in 6months or 1year to be precise after both like each other or some times even shorter duration	It is decided after thorough analysis and pros and cons of 2yrs min and 5yrs max
There is no dowry thingy here unless until parents are so cribbing for it and most of the times its done against parents will so the question of dowry rarely rises. But some times financial aid given by parents is LOT MORE THAN DOWRY as Love birds hurried for marriage and didn’t settle properly . If boy girl both parties are rich its all about money and a happy wedding ..Both sides giving some thing away to flaunt the level of the riches	There might be dowry or might not be….Some times boys are too big hearted and are strictly against dowry thing. Most of the times dowry is by default and even it is important part of the marriage deal. If the boys parents have 1 crore property they ask how much they can get directly proportional to that!! (for some one who is already having a pot belly gained on account of heaps of properties why should some one Give more money? ?). If boy girl both parties are rich its all about money and a happy wedding ..Both sides giving some thing away to flaunt the level of the riches
Its an achievement to make parents agree for the wedding	It is Biggest achievement to get every ones consent for wedding. (It mostly Doesnt happen)
There is no need to be in confusion as there is only one girl or boy whom U loved and you have no option left	There is a sea of options and U get drowned in it easily and You always feel some thing better will come till options slowly get drained and U rush for the wedding
Girl might or might not be beautiful . There is some charm (?)which attracts both. Boy might or might not be good looking . Might or might not be financially ahead of the girl . Some times its even ugly boy bful girl and handsome boy and ugly girl pairs but many times looks, intelligence, sense of humor, wit, smartness play a major role when both get attracted	Girl has to be beautiful. Well educated . Homely. Long hair.. good cook.. Proper complexion. Preferably employee..Tall , slender and should take care of parents. Boy should have lucrative salary own house…A car …onsite or settled in abroad. Tall and should not be bald . Good physique and there is always this comparative analysis. The previous girl/boy was much more better than this one or may be a ray of hope that the next girl/boy would be more better
Age is not a very important factor. Most of the times They are of same age or some times girl can also be bigger than the boy. Most of the times societies actual norms of boy elder to girl are met	The Societies norm must and should meet. Boy should be elder to girl by a minimum of 2-3yrs. But a boy who is 35 will also approach a girl of 22. But a girl of 24 should not marry a boy of 24-25. There should be age gap as they say. Some people Are super by rejecting matches where the boy is just 1-2months or 10- 15 days younger to girl. They say the mental sync is a problem ! I don’t know how much extra mental sync is possible by their predefined needed age gap between girl and boy. Well there can be few but very few broad minds
Love can be retained but expectations can be high as days go by post the wedding. Some times it may wither as days go by. A girls interpretation can be dreamy and expectations can be high which are not easily met	Love just starts so expectations might be less but the excitement to know more about each other is high so its just start afresh new and great…Love can be retained but A girls interpretation can be dreamy and expectations can be high which are not easily met

Kids are born and they get busy with monotonous life but love can be retained . So post wedding may be an year or two after wedding both seem to be same the LOVE and the ARRANGED weddings. But what matters here is the cause which caused it the effect being same..A GIRL and BOY liking each other which is simple or both families liking each and every aspect which is a bit complex. Well relations and commitment have always puzzled me.

Some times people who say they are broad minded cannot undermine or push away silly reasons and get committed. Some people who are too straight forward and frank are always ready to destroy the relation .Some people say they respect each other’s individuality but tend to harm it as and when they are committed. Only one thing I can say is with growing age you need to accept few things which cannot be changed

As an ending note some thing which I read recently in Preeti shenoys book 34 bubbles gums and candies

“ Oh god give me the power to accept things which cannot be changed and change the things which can be changed and above all give me the power to discriminate both “
